I am currently a writer and community editor for The Artifice, an online magazine that covers a wide spectrum of art forms and attracts an audience of millions.

Kingston Library and Heritage Service, Kingston-upon-Thames

Reference & Information Officer and Customer Service                                                                  

Assisting the Service Development Librarian with the management and distribution of information and resources. Duties include, but are not limited to: Liaising with internal staff and external organisations to organise information and allow efficient access; updating and maintaining distribution lists; handling Twitter content to actively promote both library and stock; answering queries, creating contacts and sending out focused advertisements via such methods as email, direct messages on social media and distributing leaflets created using Microsoft Office. I produced, marketed and organised a dramatic reading event for Halloween, which had the highest turn-out of any adult’s event held in a borough library. I initiated and still run the Kingston Library Writers’ Group, setting tasks and providing feedback to writers, with a view to making the group self-sustaining this year. I also provide a customer focused library service in accordance with the SCL initiative.

2012 - 2014

Usher work involved FOH marshalling of performances and ensuring fire safety procedures were followed; helping to run extra activities; running the café/shop and cashing up. This progressed to Access Assistant, which was helping to make visits as accessible as possible by liaising with carers/support workers/teachers, setting up calm-zones and providing information pre-performance.

2012

Archiving press cuttings and promoting events to the public. Working as part of the FOH team to marshal performances, follow fire safety regulations and assist audience with their visits.
